Account Management in Today’s Simple Technology

In the past couple of years, Internet Scamming has been at an all time high of happening to 2,000 people a day. According to the Bureau’s Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3). (ABC, Barr) Scammers are reaching people who are mostly not aware or up to date with today’s Technology. Phishing for people through the use of unsolicited emails, text messages, and phone calls. The most internet scams were for non-payments and data breach scams.

 

Most may ask, well, how can we prevent this? Our Recommendation is Account Management.

 

Maintaining and having control of all of your accounts. Knowing and having that information will make it easier for someone to detect someone trying to scam you. Let’s say you receive an email about a package and not remembering if you ordered it or not. Being able to access your account and see instead of putting trust in an unfamiliar email saves not only time from dealing with a scammer but your personal information as well. A lot of scamming situations could’ve been prevented if people knew more about accessing and managing their accounts with today’s technology.
